Shipping Types
Our products are delivered in the following ways:
- Front Door Parcel Delivery (e.g., UPS, USPS) to your delivery address
- Flat Rate Home Delivery for most furniture and other items that exceed parcel carrier shipping weight limits; usually includes our Premium White Glove service and Unlimited Items for a Flat Rate fee. Doorstep Delivery may be available at a reduced Flat Rate; does not include assembly and you are responsible for bringing the items into your home.
- Pickup from a local store with Ship to Store Delivery
- Local pickup from a UPS Access Point. Never miss a delivery again by selecting UPS Access Point at checkout. You will receive an email notification when your order has arrived at the chosen location, and you can then pickup within 7 days at a time convenient to you.

Next Day Shipping |
For an extra charge of $26.00 per address, we can arrange for next day delivery to most destinations within the contiguous 48 states.If we receive your order by 4pm PT Monday through Friday, you’ll receive your order the next business day; orders placed Friday after 4pm through Sunday will arrive on Tuesday. |
Flat Rate Delivery
White Glove Delivery* |
With White Glove Delivery, an unlimited number of eligible furniture and select non-furniture items can be delivered for a single flat rate, per shipping address. Your order will ship when all items in your order are available for delivery.Items are delivered to your home by appointment to your room of choice— and are then unpacked and fully assembled.*Items that do not include full assembly are Hold Everything Closets, outdoor patio structures, marble or stone sink consoles, lighting, mirrors, rugs, headboards attached to a metal frame and any items requiring home installation. |
Doorstep Delivery |
Doorstep Delivery service is available for select items at a lower flat rate. With Doorstep Delivery you are responsible for bringing items into your home, assembly is not included. For multi-unit buildings, items will be placed in a secure lobby area or with building concierge. |
Ship to Store Delivery |
Pick up at a local store for items that are not already in stock at the store. Customer is charged a competitive flat-rate shipping fee for most eligible orders. |

Shipping Rates & Fees
Our shipping and processing fees cover the processing, handling, packing and delivery of your order. Delivery fees do not include gift wrap or surcharges that may apply to some items.
Order Processing
When placing an order online, in-store, or over the phone, please note that your credit or debit card will be charged at the time of purchase for certain items. These items include, but may not be limited to, made-to-order furniture, branded appliances, cookware, artwork, lighting, textiles, bath and kitchen hardware, bed and bath items, cookbooks, specific perishable foods, as well as small furniture items that are shipped via UPS. This policy also extends to items sold by third-party vendors, often referred to as drop shippers, who directly ship to customers.

Delivery Surcharges
Items that are bulky, heavy, or of limited availability may have a delivery surcharge in addition to standard delivery and processing charges. This charge is shown on the product page by the item price and is in addition to regular delivery and processing charges.
Mattress Shipping Information
Shipping
Delivery fees include applicable state mattress recycling fees.
State Recycling Fee
Select states require retailers to collect a recycling fee for the sale of any mattress, futon, foundation, and base. Pottery Barn covers the cost of state-mandated recycling fees for our customers.
Returns
Mattresses, foundations and bases are final sale. They may not be returned or exchanged.
Sales Tax
Sales tax on the merchandise total is charged for items shipped to the following states and US territories: AL*, AR*, AZ*, CA*, CO*, CT*, DC*, FL*, GA*, IA, ID, IL*, IN*, KS*, KY*, LA*, MA, MD*, ME*, MI*, MN*, MO*, MS*, NC*, ND*, NE*, NJ*, NM*, NV*, NY*, OH*, OK, PA*, RI*, SC*, SD*, TN*, TX*, UT, VA*, VT*, WA*, WI*, WV*, WY and Puerto Rico*.
States and US territories marked with an asterisk also collect taxes on shipping and processing charges. Except as otherwise noted, all sales are made by Williams-Sonoma DTC, Inc., and the local sales tax of the delivery destination is also charged. All sales shipped to Texas locations are made by Williams-Sonoma DTC Texas, Inc., and the sales tax is based on the location where the order was received. The local sales tax of the delivery destination is also charged. Orders delivered to California locations are F.O.B. destination point which means title passes in California.
Shipping to International Destinations
Through our partnership with Borderfree, we are pleased to provide an enhanced international shopping experience for customers in various countries. Through Borderfree, we present product prices in the international currency of our customer’s choice and a guaranteed order total.
Customers in Australia, Canada, or Mexico can shop on those country websites.
To access International Shopping, choose the international shipping destination and preferred currency on our website by selecting the “Ship to” control at the top of any page.
Shipping To USA from International Location
All international orders must have a ship-to destination outside the United States. We cannot support customers with international billing addresses shipping to U.S. addresses.
Special Cases: Shipping Q&A
What happens if the item I ordered is backordered?
In some cases, shipping may be postponed due to a lack of product availability. Items that are on backorder will be shipped when they are received in stock. In the event of any delay, we will notify you by mail or email.
Can I ship to a PO Box?
We can ship most items to a P.O. Box. This excludes oversized items and those shipped directly from our manufacturers. You will receive a message during checkout if the item is not eligible to ship to a PO Box.
Can I delay the shipment of my order?
If you wish to place an order but delay its shipment to a later date, please do so through our Customer Service Center. Our sales associates will be happy to assist you.
